A Happy New Year to one and all. Especially you at the back holding a camera up.

Well, here it is, the inaugural blog.

How many times I wonder has the word inaugural been used in a first blog? Too many I don’t doubt, but it just seemed the right word to use.

I realize it’s not the best of timing either, Christmas Eve and all that, but I’d stalled long enough already. And in Japan, despite the abundance of decorations, Christmas is something of a non-event. That’s my excuse anyway for starting my blog at this time of year. And regardless of what anybody says, I’m sticking to it.

But thankfully it’s not all bah humbug. A friend has offered to do the honors this year, so it’ll be the full Christmas dinner tomorrow. Stuffing and all. There’ll be no rice or sushi to be seen. Hoorah!

So on that note, my first (or dare I say it again, inaugural) blog is out of the way. Except for just one last thing.
