Dalek-like devotion?

What exactly this place is, apart from probably being Buddhist-based, is a mystery, at least to me.

But it does have a sort of dated science fiction-like demeanour. Or even, at a push, it could be deemed as almost Dalek-like.

    Um… It’s very Tibetan!
How come its windows are so narrow?!

Agreed, the stupa-bell-like architecture certainly conveys that feeling. The fact that you brought up narrow windows reminds me of some myths involving buddhism where a giant bell is used to trap demons. Hence the narrow windows are, probably, in fact, cell windows.

I love it, you can imagine a ‘black & white ‘Flash Gordon clinging to the antenna, repulsing an attack of miriad drones from Ming the Merciless!

A giant Dalek? We’re doomed unless we aim for the eyestalk!

But seriously, that’s a beautiful building. I wish designs like this were more common.

Is this made out of wood, looks like it…Reminds me of a hybrid of art deco, meets Buddha, alien communication outpost from planet x, prison/meditation outpost?????Beautiful building though, the center antenna or pole kind of takes it over the top though…Where is this exactly and couldn’t you just knock on the door or wait for someone to leave the building or enter it, to find the function, philosophy etc…I could be a mini modern sci fi museum….Or is this a demon catcher, if so do not go to the door, or even get too close to it, you wouldn’t want to be sucked into the demon catching vortex doors….

Nah, it’s not wood. And unfortunately we couldn’t get right up to it as the entrance was blocked and there was nobody about. We did ask a few people passing by though, and they didn’t know exactly what it was either apart from being religious in some form or another.

Clearly inspired by both Jabba the Hut’s palace and Buddhism, and rather strange.
