A little while ago I posted a series of images taken during several Osaka photowalks conducted in late October. All of them were from the city’s grittier, and decidedly non-touristy areas. Locations where time seems to have stood still, and despite life being tough for many residents, the vast majority of people I’ve met there have been incredibly warm, open and kind.
Below then are more photos from those walks. Scenes that I hope capture the down-to-earth nature that for me at least is the overriding feeling of these neighbourhoods. Parts of the city where there’s no need or desire for airs and graces. Just life as it is. For better or worse.

These are all very interesting, Lee. There are so many stories here. I also like the sequence of the last 2!

Thank you very much. Really good to hear. And cheers. Couldn’t resist putting those two together.

A wonderful reminder of out time there with you. Despite the large number you have chosen, (plus the 4000+ photographs we have on rotating backdrops), it’s only a tiny window on what are huge areas of Osaka full of lives, homes and businesses like these. Incredible photographs and so much detail in each.

Thanks a lot. Very happy with these. We had a lot of fun eh? And yeah, only a hint of what the area looks and feels like.
