Electric Avenue

As is often the case in central Tokyo, the narrow alleyway below boasts a huge number of little eateries and bars; making it a lively and colourful little spot. One that’s sadly spoilt somewhat by the unsightly and ever-present tangle of overhead wires and cables.

More — as the saying goes — than you can shake a stick at.

Providing of course you’d want to take the risk.

Personally, I love the techy look of a cable-jungle.

Nice pic. This, to me, is exactly the type of place I’d love to be strolling on a Friday evening looking for a meal and a pint, overhead wires or no! Personally, I don’t think all the overhead wires are that big a deal. I still think Tokyo’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world. When I was living there (85-90), I can’t recall ever really noticing them.

That cable jungle reminds me a bit of my home theatre setup.
