Itβs always nice to have a person in the frame no matter how interesting the surroundings might be. Arguably better still though is to include someone in their natural environment β a location where they live, work or spend a good amount of their time.
These then are some such moments, along with a few that may not quite match the description but still work nicely anyway.

Oh man the colors in #2 & #3!

Thanks a lot. Yeah, those worked out incredibly well. Always lovely when things just happen like that.

So many lovely moments. Thank you for making me smile! π
Lee says
You are very welcome. Some moments I’m very glad I was there to capture.

The first one and the last one epitomise one reason why I like Japan – the tolerance and freedom to be and act how you please without fear of reprobation.
Of daily life, the guy hanging the paper lantern (chochin?) outside the yakitori place capture a simple act that may have been repeated every day without a break for decades. Hard lives, that can never make you rich, but which are enough for a living and contribute so much to the lives of other people.
May you never tire (even in the sapping heat of summer) of searching out such scenes. And don’t forget the salt tablets π
Lee says
Yeah, that’s a very good point. Japan can be very oppressive in many ways, and yet there can be total freedom in others.
I always think about. How many times have little restaurant owners made the same meal, gone through the same motions etc. I invariably find it both inspiring and terrifying all at the same time.
Thank you. This week the heat has really kicked in, so the salt tablets and body soothing air-conditioned breaks are well and truly back.
