Tsukiji fish market’s most miserable office?

Despite being incredibly small, the office below can’t claim to be the littlest, as this previously featured workspace comfortably matches it. But considering the mess, it might have a decent shot when it comes to the most miserable.

It’s not the nicest, or indeed biggest workspace, is it?

I thought the other office was bad, but wow, this one is something else. That poor poor woman…. 🙁

I know eh? I suppose she’s used to it, but still, sitting in there all day, every working day, can’t be very nice at all…

The dents on the metalwork make it look as if the occupant needs protection. Mind you, the way the power cable grommet has slipped out makes me fear what could happen if the insulation wears on the metal.
Love the abacus. I assume it is, or was recently, used.
Sights like these, and the rats nest utility poles really do provide a contrast to the general perception of the Japanese being tidy and neat.

I know. There are so many ideas about Japan that are simply accepted, regardless of how much truth they hold. They persist too, despite the obvious signs to suggest otherwise. That said, in Japan it’s a given that all English men are gentlemen. A ‘truth’ that my wife is sadly all too often forced to dispute!

I always enjoy seeing an abacus in use. Still not all that uncommon to see. There’s actually an abacus school near my house. With everyone having a calculator and Google in their pockets these days, it’s amazing they still survive.

The thing though is that the woman manning that office looks quite comfortable, serene even, in there! 😀

Yeah, that’s very true. I suppose that’s simply where she works. As normal to her perhaps as a cubicle is to millions of other people.

It looks like they made that out of an old refrigerator, or a defunct TARDIS. If it’s a TARDIS it’s HUGE in there!
