A body-less, but no less alarming, Japanese scarecrow

When coupled with bodies, mannequin head sporting Japanese scarecrows can be sombre and serene, as well as scary.

But without a body, they simply look sinister. Or is it sad?

It is, but at the same time, I have a real soft spot for them.

He has a distant almost vacant look in his eyes, but equally disturbing.

Yeah, somehow they always look a little lost…

Yes, and a bit of shampoo wouldn’t go amiss either!

Although it’s look scary, it is a interesting picture.
Maybe the whole head should wash it clean.
When I covered the picture and just shown the head, he looked just like after having a muddy fight game.

Yes, after months (maybe years) out in the fields, it’s not surprising I suppose.

I don’t know if it would scare the crows, but it would certainly scare the humans.

They are interesting during the day, but I wouldn’t like to wander past them at night!

Still less creepy than the strung up, sun dried, giant dead monkey that my father-in-law showed to me, hanging from a tripod of posts, a scarecrow to deter other monkeys from interfering in the worlds of men….

    …but a cool pic nonetheless! ;-p

Isn’t this just a panel out of some Go Nagai comic?
