A dystopian Tokyo tunnel

An underground tunnel, a long-abandoned bike and the sense of a story that’s always going to be out of reach.

Hey, cool bike. Was it worth restoring?

Probably. Wasn’t in bad condition at all really. Trouble is it was in the bowels of a sports stand, so no way of getting it out. Well, not without it being very obvious, anyway.

Cool shot. Really cool bike. I’d have loved a bike like that when I was younger! 🙂

Cheers. Yes, it really is. And likewise, I’d have been very happy with that as a kid. In fact I’d still be more than happy with it even now!

An interesting scene. I like the way the dust and grime at the edges of the floor envelops the footprint of the slouched bike. Looks like the tunnel is kept clean by periodic floods of people, or perhaps some underground road sweeper. Either way, why the bike is left there and why it was originally abandoned is the story.

Yeah, it’s an odd one. Pretty sure it’s not a place where many people venture, so the cleaners must keep it tidy. But at the same time the bike is left there, and like you say, there’s the dust and grime all around it. A definite story, but one that’s most definitely a mystery.
