A head in a box

In a box labelled lettuce, a head of said plant would certainly be expected. Simply a head, however, perhaps wouldn’t be.

Interesting shot!! But also give me a shock. A head with a glaring eye!!
This box had used for educational book/ textbook too after the Lettuce.

Cheers. Yes, it’s had a varied life. Lettuce, to books, then mannequin heads!

Arrgh! Those things freak me out. Having a nice walk in the fields, all of a sudden you come across a decapitated head some samurai left on a stake 🙂

I know. There’s certainly no shortage of them. First time I’ve seen one in a box though!

Got to admit it took me by surprise when I first saw it. Not at all what I was expecting…

Yikes! Reminds me of childhood fears. Finding a head in a box was a strong irrational fear of mine as a tyke, because there were a number of cases, back in the day, where actual heads were found in boxes; one floating down the Tamagawa fished out of the river by school kids. Despite that, I always had to open stray cardboard boxes I came across… creepy.

I couldn’t resist, so I desaturated the shot, messed with the levels, added some blur, then cropped the right side, so the mannequin base wasn’t in the frame… scared myself.

Hope it didn’t shock you too much. How odd childhood fears are eh? Although that one was obviously based on a real incident.

I’ll be heading along the Tamagawa tomorrow. If I see any boxes I certainly won’t be opening them…
