    The buildings may often have a little added shrubbery but they rarely seem to be patched up and spruced up.

    At least he is well dressed and nicely groomed. Hopefully, he is on the road to recovery from whatever happened to his eye.

      He is. Very smart. It has always surprised me how many people you see with eye patches in Tokyo. They are hardly everywhere of course, but at the same time far from out of the ordinary. I have been told that ingrowing eyelashes can be a big problem for many Japanese, so that would perhaps explain it.
