A Tokyo concrete factory golfer

This keen Tokyo golfer may well live way out west in the mountainous, decidedly non-urban outskirts of the capital, and yet the lush fairways of his dreams must still seem incredibly far away.

Yes, not the prettiest of views it has to be said.

    That’s …. um …. some view.

I think he missed an opportunity to use the technique of borrowed scenery. If he’d gotten a bigger sheet and painted on it a green or fairway he could’ve used the mountain above the plant.

Hope springs eternal in golfers! I know this from personal experience.

@YesterdaysHero That’s such a good idea. If he really went for it, he could incorporate the different seasons too.

@Richard Hope is often all there is!

Here in California we play golf through all 4 seasons….even in winter when the early am temperatures are sometimes 3-4 degrees. My niece once called me ‘an addict!’

Being outdoors with friends a few times a week has been a mental health life saver during the pandemic.

I hope you are safe and well.

My Dad is the same and I’m sure it has been similarly helpful. A good way to get out, socialise and also stay safe. Not been many of those options…

Thanks a lot. That’s very kind of you. I’m doing ok all things considered, and ok is good enough for now I reckon.

Doing ‘ok all things considered’ at this time in your life is actually quite good. It may be hard to believe but it will get better with more time.

Ah, playing on a frost covered course with fluorscent orange Dunlop 65s, those were the days. Made the warm beer at the 19th almost palatable đŸ™‚

That’s crazy! .. but the screen is ideal for highlighting a good ‘in the swing’ action shot from a passing photographer.

That factory is quite something eh? Yeah, I only realised that afterwards. He used to have a much smaller target hanging up, and was disappointed to finally see him there but with the screen instead. But once I got home I realised that without it he’d have more or less just merged into the background.
