Abandoned foreign car near a Japanese rice field

A farmhouse is what you should probably expect to find near Japanese rice fields. Perhaps some farming equipment too. But an abandoned and far from common foreign car?

Cheers. Not sure if it’s an ability or just plain luck, but if you get out and explore often enough, Japan does have a lovely habit of throwing up surprises.

Probably broke down with a minor issue and it would have cost a fortune to repair πŸ™‚ The houses in the background give it away, otherwise I would have guessed the image was shot in the UK πŸ˜‰

Yeah, good call. That sounds very likely.

With the rice harvested, it really is only the house that gives it away, isn’t it?

Nice picture! I’m not 100% sure, but car is probably Chevrolet El Camino from 1980’s. Very famous from weak automatic transmissions, so that’s might be reason why it is there…

Cheers! And thanks a lot for the info. Good to have an idea what it probably is. Even better knowing a very good reason why it might have ended up like it has.
