An unsettlingly lifelike Japanese scarecrow

There are numerous photographs of Japanese scarecrows on this site. Some of them are really quite disturbing. Whereas others are downright wrong. But this one is arguably something else altogether, as it almost seems sentient.

    It’s nearly looked like after mud wresting!
    Maybe it might be disturbing if I said this scarecrow’s eyes look kind to me.

      Yeah, I guess that’s what a summer stood in a field does to you!

      Not at all. For me he doesn’t look disturbing, just sad.

        Actually, I think he’s been out there since last winter. Notice the Uniqlo Heattech undershirt he’s sporting?

          That’s funny. Yes, clearly Uniqlo had sold out again, so he had to improvise his own heattech.

    I try to avoid reading the title when your blog gets to my inbox so I can be surprised when I click the link…. this one gave me a start. Surprsingly disturbing.
