An old coffee shop in old Tokyo

Tokyo has no shortage of big chain coffee shops and cafes, but fortunately it also has plenty of old school, lost in time little outlets.

That looks just the ticket. And I hope this means you are home!

Not quite! Heading home to Tokyo at the weekend.

That place really is the ticket though. Small, friendly and totally unique.

The detail, the textures, the history. Combine that with the lighting, location, framing and character, and you have a great photograph.
Gotta echo the hope that you are home soon – the weekly wait is too long 🙂
Also, thanks for teaching me some Japanese. I took a punt at the word being Coffee and after a brief googlewrangle got コーヒー , Kōhī. Result! And one I will have a fair chance of recognising next visit (229 days away) when seen in the context of a shop noren.

Cheers! Yeah, everything came together very nicely.

That’s very reassuring to hear. Back at the weekend, so it’ll be a return to the usual 3 posts from next week.

Get beer, coffee and wine remembered and you are good way to an even better holiday!

Thought that was the house number! I’m enjoying a nice 171 as I type.

and thanks for the plant trimming idea – those leaves get long!

Great framing as usual. The old guy looks in need of a coffee too! 😉

Cheers! Yeah, he was certainly struggling, although I’m not sure how much difference a bit of caffeine would make…

Thanks! Yeah, it’s a wonderful little place. Plenty of other drinks to enjoy too.

Great time of year to visit. Arguably the best time. You should have a blast!
