Autumn colours in a Tokyo alley

The red autumn foliage in this alleyway may well be fake, but there’s no doubting the colourful character of the fella passing through it. A man whose smile is big, and his summer wear bold.

Wearing a samui, a fun hat and a great smile, life is looking up to this fellow!
I love wearing samui myself although I usually only wear it at home or at an onsen town to go out to the other baths as even the LL sized yukata they have at the ryokan are way too small for me 🙂

      Yeah, a genuine character.

A yukata is as far as I go. And even then only in the confines of a hotel. With may pale complexion and brown hair, I just look silly in traditional Japanese clothing. Plus, like you say, they never fit properly, which only adds to the comedy element!

Yes, a man with a very colorful character. Great smile too. Nicely capttured!

Thanks! Yeah, not your average salaryman by any stretch of the imagination. Not too often you see a smile like that in Tokyo either.

Also looks like he’s not washed his clothes since summer! 🙂

Yeah, good call. I’ll give him the benefit of doubt and say it’s just worn, but even if that is the case, he definitely needs a new one!

I’m going, much to the horror of my children I’m sure, to dress like that when I’m his age.

If it’s to the horror of your kids, even more reason to do so!
