I’m assuming I should refer to the subject as he?:) takes a lot of courage to do this.

Yes. And yes, it really does. Way more courage than I could ever even hope to muster. Thank goodness some people have such strength, as they brighten so many more lives than just their own.

Is that the shadow of a tripod I see before me?
The centering and the hand position of the shadow of the star of the show on the ‘white post’ is uncanny. It’s a shame that the rest of the shadow is obscured.
It is certainly a better activity for posture than napping on stairs.

It is. He was taking photos of himself. Seen him doing the same thing numerous times. Happily he didn’t mind me taking one too,.

I wasn’t really aware of his shadow when taking the photo. Worked out ok, but if I’d noticed it at the time, I may have been able to do something a bit different.

      And yes, much better!

It’s an interesting change of pace when you photograph someone who is obviously pleased about it.

Cheers. Yeah, always nice to mix things up a bit. Even better when it’s such an interesting subject.

“Lee, I see you have come to challenge me at last.”
“I’ve come to take back my city!”
“Did you bring your giant robot?”
“Um…no. He’s getting converted from nuclear power to onsen steam power. You know how the Japanese are about nukes.”
“Pity. That shall be your undoing. I brought my non-binary, fashionably-attired, hermaphrodite ninja zombie horde, armed with the latest—and heaviest—Prada handbags filled with iPhone X-es.”
    “Crap.”

Haha. In Ginza, on a sunny Sunday, such a scenario wouldn’t surprise me at all!

A stunning image. Really brightens Ginza up. Good on him, and you for stopping to open our eyes to it.
I was surprised to find Ginza a little bit on the drab side colour wise when I visited. Some wonderful architecture, but the facades and peoples clothes mostly a palette of beige and grey.

Just think if he tried that on Oxford Street. His camera would have gone in seconds for a start.

Thank you! I know eh? People like him really do make the world a much more inserting place.

I only ever go to Ginza at the weekend. The sun has to be shining too. And even then only during the time it shines right down the street. ‘Cos yeah, it’s really not all that appealing otherwise.

Sad to say, but yes, that’s likely very true…

Cheers! With a subject as interesting as this, it was a very easy photo to take. Hard to go wrong really.
