Bonsai blush

Despite the red seeming somewhat unseasonal, this sensationally-shaped bonsai is still an absolute delight to behold.

Japanese bonsai

And yet rather sadly, having spoke to one of the men managing this one and many others, it seems that who exactly started it, or even saw it through its first century, is totally and utterly unknown.

    Hi Lee,

Have a safe trip home. How about some notes/photos from the other small group of islands?

      Thanks!

I won’t be doing any notes, but I’ll probably be posting a few photos at here, at Tokyotimes’ Posterous.

That is a beautiful bonsai and a beautiful picture. I myself wish I knew who it was, i’d pay for a few from that person. Well keep up the good work and keep enjoying your much deserved vacation.

Cheers ameiji. All the bonsai on display were beautiful, but this one, with its incredible colour, really stood out.
