Bulls on the road in rural Japan

You know you are not in Tokyo anymore when a bull passes by.

A feeling that’s even more pronounced when it turns out the massive beast has an equally mammoth best friend.

I can imagine! Always good to have a change of pace now and again.

They look so proud of their magnificent charge, a wonderful scene.
I wonder what the shirts, heavy red, white and gold rope/sash and the red tail ribbon meant.

They really were. Big pets in many ways.

The shirts, ribbon etc. were all connected to the bull fighting they were returning from. Yeah, bullfighting. But bull against bull, and no bouts to the death or anything unpleasant like that.

Up in Niigata. Didn’t really know what to expect to be honest, but it made for a very interesting afternoon.
