Cabbage confusion

How the humble cabbage ever managed to become a decorative device never ceased to amaze me; a decidedly unusual choice over the more generally accepted flower or plant.

Anyway, it turns out that they aren’t cabbages after all.

Which is a shame.

I have seen these plants a lot. I always thought they were some kind of cabbage too.

They’re kale, which is sort of similar to cabbage. Closer to collards, if you know what that is.

They’re pretty popular in colder climates, since, like pansies, the colder it gets the stronger the colors are.

Kale can be quite tasty, but still, I would rather continue to think of them as caggages, thank you very much…
