Maid to measure

For those mesmerised by all things maid related, costumes can be picked up in plenty of Tokyo retailers for a pretty good price.

As far as real fanatics go however, order-made outfits are the only option, with Japanese company Candy Fruit kindly coming up with the goods — culling together a classy collection of costumes that includes apparel perfect for a leisurely lunch outside.

Or for the less active, there are ensembles better suited to slouching on a sofa in a semi-vegetative state; although the application form’s request of “If an order is placed, please be exciting and wait” could prove problematic for some purchasers.

Alternatively, if it’s simply a night at home watching anime, then the addition of a nice set of stockings and extra frills would seem to be more suitable.

As reported way back in 2005, Japanese brides simply fart for fun, readily reeling off raspers on a regular basis.

Yet whilst this penchant for pumping is made perfectly clear by the pie chart above, some ladies appear to prefer more public performances to prove their point. Like this young woman for example.

Tokyo transportation

The mindbogglingly efficient nature of Tokyo’s train network is well known throughout the world, with millions of people moved from one place to another in a mesmerisingly monotonous manner. Its punctual nature perhaps only tarnished by the predominance of perverts who take advantage of commuter crammed carriages — a furtive feel here and there apparently fending of the boredom of a long journey. An issue that has been dealt with to a certain degree by women-only carriages, although incidents do still occur.

Even out of the city centre in Tokyo’s western suburbs, people are still whisked about like clockwork. And for those living a little too far from a train station, buses are generally a reasonable alternative — especially for the elderly — although their regularity can’t always be relied on. Like this bus to Hino station for example.

Leaving once a day at 3:21 p.m. (weekdays only), it doesn’t exactly offer the best of services, and pensioners hoping to pile on for a trip into town to play bingo and buy denture cream had better arrive early, as the route only offers a ‘little’ bus.

Fame fuelled fire starter

After being arrested for torching a car last year in Suwa, Nagano Prefecture, and subsequently held for further questioning in regards to several other blazes in the same area, 21-year-old blogger and busty idol wannabe Erika Hirata was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Monday.

A hefty sentence for a series of crimes that appear to have been committed to boost the profile of the town they occurred in, and also Hirata-san’s bid to become a famous idol. Pictures of the fires posted on the young restaurant worker’s website perhaps not unexpectedly attracting the wrong kind of attention.

Yet despite her admission of “I did it to get feelings of irritation off my chest, and I wanted to make Suwa famous,” Hirata arguably already had what it takes to become a Japanese idol without the need for such drastic action. As going off the success of other similarly built stars, her ample enough assets would quite possibly have taken her to wherever it was she wanted to go.

Boobs-based body art

Whilst my knowledge of manga is minimal to say the least, I am aware that big eyes and even bigger breasts are very much the norm. This previously posted promotional picture for a Tokyo-based anime and manga school somewhat gratuitously proving the point.

A combination that quite possibly prompted the manga devotee below to rather daringly dovetail the two together, with breasts turning into eyes and visa versa — sort of.

Which is all very clever it has to be said, but with one becoming the other, the all-important mammaries are sadly missing — the full feat perhaps only possible if it was to feature a man with gargantuan gonads. But there again the ‘eyes’ would then be all but absent, plus there would also be the rather superfluous and unsightly sticky-out bit.

Probably best sticking with the lady in question eh?
