Shoeless panty pervert

Last week, 51-year-old Ichiro Shinichi was arrested for illegal entry into a private residence.

Although arguably (if such a thing is possible) he could be charged on 2 counts, as Mr. Shinichi broke into the house once, and then returned to the property later the same evening. The first visit was to steal underwear, and the second was to retrieve his shoes that had been left behind in the garden.

The whole sorry business started when Shinichi was leaving the house during his first trip. The panty pilferer was spotted by the house owner’s wife, and in his haste to flee the scene, Shinichi-san left his footwear in the garden. Yes, despite illegally entering a house and stealing underwear, the thief in question was still polite enough to leave his shoes outside and enter the residence barefooted.

After returning home, the shoeless burglar became worried that the left-behind footwear could lead to his capture, so at 1 a.m. he went back. But unfortunately for Shinichi-san, the woman’s son was waiting for him, and he was pounced upon when he re-appeared in the garden.

After being handed over to the police, Shinichi surprisingly confessed to having broken into the same house over 10 times in the past. If this is true, with such regular raids it makes you wonder if the woman had any underwear left to steal. I have to admit that if (and it’s a very big if) the same thing happened to me, I’d unfortunately be left no alternative but to use the tried and tested method of turning my underwear inside out merely to get me through the week.

Shinichi-san’s shoes yesterday. Perhaps.

Cool clothing

The jacket pictured below is decidedly uncool in a fashion sense, but when it comes to the hot and humid Japanese summer, it’s the coolest clothing out there.

air-conditioned-jacket.jpg

The clever people at PC2B have equipped the jacket with 2 fans that send a current of air through the garment, helping to reduce body temperature. By wearing it you may appear to possess the physique of a sumo wrestler, but at least it will stop you sweating like the proverbial pig.

Here’s hoping that air-conditioned underwear is next on PC2B’s list.

Sex-crazed superhero

During a 10-day promotional tour for his latest movie, Spiderman found himself in Tokyo’s Laforet Harajuku shopping centre. And in a blatant abuse of his superhero status and abilities, he took time out to grope an unsuspecting shopper.

Rumours of Spiderman spending the rest of the afternoon on the capital’s rail network, and inappropriately touching as many women as he could get his hands on have yet to be confirmed.

Uniform uniformity

Below is a picture featuring employees of Ito Yokado (Japan’s largest supermarket chain), doing their early morning radio taiso exercises. Whilst this just-before-work exercise regime is not as prevalent as it used to be, it’s by no means a thing of the past. With jolly music, and almost military like precision, it is truly a sight to behold. Especially if performed by a large number of people.

For anybody wishing to give it a go, click here for a few basic moves and the rather dated yet quaint musical score.

And for those somewhat averse to keep fit regimes, fear not, as you can even do it sitting down!

Lonely life….and death

On June 1st, the skeletal remains of a man were found in an apartment in the Ikebukuro district of Tokyo.

This is itself is unpleasant, but perhaps more disturbing is the fact that police suspect they are the remains of someone who died alone there 20 years ago. As beside the body was a newspaper dated 1984, leading investigators to believe that the man had been reading it just before he died.

It turns out that the dead man used to work for a Tokyo-based construction company, and the apartment his body was found in belonged to the firm. It’s thought that the man, who was 57 at the time, began using the room without the company’s permission. And judging by what happened there, without its knowledge too.

What the company did when the man suddenly stopped showing up for work wasn’t reported, but what his family did paints a very lonely picture. Basically they did nothing. His wife, children, and other relatives never asked the police to search for him…

Resulting in this very sad story 20 years down the line.
