Cherry blossom expressions

Individual cherry blossoms are all pretty much the same. The individual expressions of those enjoying them, however, are quite the opposite.

Really like that woman’s expression on the left. Makes this a great shot. Was this expression aimed at you?

Thanks. An interesting one, isn’t it?

I’d like to say yes, but afraid I can’t. I saw the 3 of them lined up and the light was nice, so that’s what made me take the shot. Her expression was a very nice little bonus.

Thinking “Love Exposure” or Issa? perhaps.
The photographic (almost over) exposure almost hints at our own transitory nature..

Interesting that you thought of those as my inspiration. It would have been especially nice if it was Issa. But no. For me, the blossoms are only really interesting as a whole, not individually which I often see photos of. Those viewing, however, are quite the opposite. Not especially interesting as a huge, heaving mass, but individually they’re often fascinating.

Oh, and totally agree about photographic exposure.

The blossoms are like fireworks, glorious! The people themselves are already worthy of a shot; somehow they reminded me of the ‘Breakfast Club’ film as each of them is so different from the other. 🙂

Never thought of the blossom like that, but that’s a great description.

They are all very different, aren’t they? Interesting people, cherry blossom and the sun. Tough to beat!

I found cool how the elements of the image were arranged…
    .
It is like the people seem to be emerging from the lower part of the picture, as a triangle shape with the top of the triangle being the girl with the hat.
    .
There are some movie posters in Japan that look like that, with the main charachter in front with the others at the back. Also some statues and images in Korea look like that too.
    .
Also there is variety like what is shown at some classic paintings where there are many things happening at the same time, from the relationship between those people to their behavior and activities.

Great to hear you saw so much in it.

Yes, I was really pleased with the triangular shape. Something that is emphasised a bit with the low angle. Always nice when photos work out like that. Something I was aiming for, plus I got some interesting expressions too. And, like you say, there are different things happening, both in looks and possible relationships. Just wish I could achieve this kind of thing more often!
