This dear looking lady reminds me of my 101 year old mother, well dressed and lipstick. VERY CHARMING!

Excellent! That fierce colour red is incredible popular with the baachans; each time Hollywood uses the same colour lipstick on a femme fatale in their films, I shudder…. 🙂

      Cheers.

That’s funny. Those Hollywood make up artists would no doubt be appalled at the images that colour lipstick conjures up for you!

your photographs are very poignant and personal. maybe i missed this in a previous Q+A but how do you approach these individuals and capture their personalities without compromising their self awareness?

Thanks a lot. Very nice of you to say so.

Good question. I don’t use a large dSLR which possibly allows me to be a bit more discreet. Or at least discreet until I raise the camera. Plus I also take the photos as quickly as possible — often pre-focusing, so it’s simply a case of raising the camera and composing the shot. But that’s about it really. Sorry, that doesn’t help much, does it…?
