Oh wow 🤩 you took this so well. I love the angle because it makes the car look so damn cool! I never knew a taxi could look so good. Beautifully done!

Thank you very much! Didn’t have any time to think about really. Saw the taxi and just about had time to get the shot, so very pleased with how it came out. I’ve always liked that rather dated, but distinctive style, so glad it now has a new fan!

The colourful Tokyo taxi liveries are a sight to behold at any time, largely because they keep them so perfectly clean and shiney. So when captured in this wonderful light box of sun, shadow and stripes the effect is stunning.
When I first saw them I looked for models of them, but although there are some, and some quite expensive ones, none I found had anything close the finish of the real deal. If they did I’d use them as Christmas Tree ornaments 🙂

Very happy to have caught one in such light and shadows. Yeah, the colours are wonderful, and like you said, they are always so well looked after. I often see them parked up, and if the drivers aren’t sleeping or smoking, they are dusting their cars down with a big feather duster stored in the boot.

Now that would make for a novel Christmas tree!

Wonderful photo, as seems to be your way Lee.

The saturated, mono-color green emerging from the shadows and white lines seems like a caricature. Maybe he’s escaped the underworld, only to face the stick man whose shadow crosses his hood?

Thanks a lot Evan. Very kind of you.

I like that description a lot. Matches the driver’s expression perfectly as well.
