Green and overgrown urban Tokyo

A few weeks ago I posted a series of photos from Tokyo’s far west. An area that looks and feels like a different world due to its natural landscapes and sparse population.

Such greenery, however, isn’t restricted to just the capital’s western extremities, as these far more urban photos amply prove. Sightings that are surprisingly common too, as these were are all taken in the last few weeks or so. Natural elements that add so much colour and life to generally mundane, manmade scenes.

Wow indeed – what is that last image of? Huge air vents?
So many excellent photographs. The phone is a favourite (still cannot find them for sale even though they are being decommissioned).
But that car! Such a wonderful beetle wing deep green. Nice Jag I thought, but wait, what, what, how would a Jag park in there. Seems it is a Mitsuoka Viewt. Never does a post of yours leave me uneducated 🙂

I assume so. Whatever they are though, they always look incredible.

Knew the phone would appeal. That’s actually near my place too. Makes you wonder what is happening to all the decommissioned models eh?

A lot of these would look absolutely great on my wall!

We now have two huge James Kerwin prints behind art glass (does the colors justice), but yours would look stunning too!

Thanks ever so much, that’s really kind of you. Always incredibly nice to make and see prints.

One of my favorite genres of Tokyo photos. I like it best when they’re morning glories, but I’ll take any kind of building covered in any kind of vines. Especially the one with the pink flowers and Skytree – wish I were there. The yellow flowers and the car are also amazing, the green phone booth surrounded by green… love them all.

Thank you. Yeah, scenes like this never disappoint. Actually took one featuring morning glory after I’d edited and sequenced these, so that’ll make an appearance here in the not too distant future.
