Green gasoline?

With Toyota and Honda currently going head to head for hybrid car honours, and even talk of a trimmed down GM turning green, this could well be a picture of how petrol pumps will peter out.

Japanese petrol pump

Perhaps.

What is with the nozzle being so high in the air?

A lot of gas stations are like that in Tokyo and I’ve seen it in a few Korean movies too. They pull down and extend; just an alternative to ground-standing pumps. Plus then you can park several cars in whatever position and have the attendant fuel them as necessary/convenient without having to move the cars closer. (or have one accidentally run over the fuel line)

ohhh! that’s cool, and it makes a lot of sense : ) Since all of the stations are self serve in the US I guess I never thought about it.

I guess as it’s not in use anymore, they just left it like that so nobody would mess about with it.
