I love smile

We all like smiles. This fella even more than most. But at a time when he clearly needed one, there wasn’t a single one to be seen.

I love smile

We have all spent time sitting on a park bench watching birds or squirrels and needing a smile but the hat makes it Japanese.

We have. No doubt about that. And yes, the hat really does make it Japanese.

    Poor guy………

I agree with Martin, we have all spent time there, but he really needs to get a new hat!

Yeah, he didn’t look very happy at all. At first I thought he was just tired, but it seemed to be more than that.

Great capture Lee – it is a sad irony, the guy’s hat and the juxtaposition of his loneliness against the sparse background – a reflection of a world of technological communications, but little basic human communication – spinning too fast – we all need to slow down and get back to the basics, ‘being human’ – having soul….

      Thanks!

Yes, that’s very true. Very hard not to get sucked in though, isn’t it? I know all too well I’m often guilty of it…

Interestingly there have recently been campaigns in Japan aimed at getting people to use their smart phones less. A positive call on many fronts, but there are some that suggest there are ulterior motives. There’s a link here. It makes for an interesting read.

Possibly, but there again I wouldn’t be so sure…

The word ぐたり (completely exhausted) comes to mind watching the chap’s pose 🙂
