If the sporting of short shorts was an Olympic event, then this previously photographed young fella would surely take gold each and every time. The shape and shortness of his attire carefully straddles the border between risqué and potential arrest, plus if that somehow wasn’t enough, there’s the added flourish of a perfectly placed butterfly tattoo.
And yet that said, if medals were handed out for minimalist outfits as a whole, then the fabulously bold gentleman below would be a very worthy contender indeed. A man who embraces the urban summer sun and heat like no one I’ve ever seen before.
They are very brave guys.
They really are. To just have a little bit of their confidence and bravery would be wonderful.
Moving swiftly on from the first image, that guy seems to embrace the warmer wash cycle, regardless of the consequences.
I love the quizzical (?) duo on the left.
He does indeed. And the warmer the better it would seem. I got a brief look from the front, and they definitely didn’t look the comfiest.
The older fella in the last photo was quizzical I think ‘cos I was taking a photo. Not who I was taking a photo of. I liked that. A nice added extra.
Admittedly, it has been many years since I have been in Japan in summertime. I never ran across anyone ‘dressed’ like that before!
Times have changed, but for better or worse, not in this sense. He’s very much a one-off. Well, as far as I know he is anyway…
Oh my they look very tight! 😮
They both look and are very, very tight!
I’m not sure whether the caption should be “Feel the breeze!” or “Feel the squeeze!”. Either way, long may such free spirits and tolerant society bestow such scenes before your lens.
Probably both, but definitely a bit more of the squeeze. I know eh? I do hope people like these two know that as well as making themselves happy, they brighten up the day of everyone else as well.
Once an Expat says
Eye bleach, eye bleach!!
Just a bit of summer fun. Well, along with some autumnal fun in the first photo!
The second gentleman is sure confident in his waistband. Looks like an accident waiting to happen there.
Yes, very confident. Hopefully he never drops anything, as retrieving it would presumably be fraught with all kinds of danger.
