Well Jules, I’m even less qualified to answer this than I was with JJ’s question, but as a western woman you may suffer from being seen as both alluring and alarming — possibly at the same time. Yet that said, blonde hair and/or big boobies should see most Japanese men quickly allay any apprehension they may feel.
Plus as a bonus, if the former somehow doesn’t manage to get you a man, it could lead to some motorcycle-related modelling work.
With the latter possibly providing a part-time bar position if they somehow don’t find you a fella.
Making it a no-lose situation.

Well Jules, my advice to you is to get yourself into a target rich environment. That’s the best start.
If you are in Japan then I would recommend an Irish Bar in one of the big foreigner neighborhoods like Roppongi, Shinjuku or Shibuya. Japanese people turn up to meet Westerners, male or female.
Alternatively, you could try a martial art. I’d probably stay away from Kendo, since I’m informed its popular with Japanese women, and go for something like Aikido or Shorinji Kempo, both emphasize technique that doesn’t require much strength, and they’re both packed with men. They both fit in with the Japanese pacifist ethic, Aikido more than Shorinji Kempo admittedly.
Being male I would go for Jazz Dancing or Amateur Drama. Most guys think it’s a bit gay, but then again when I’m standing in a room where the ratio of women to men is 30 to 1 I don’t really care what other guys say. If you want to hang around with men – play rugby.
I call it hanging around the watering hole.. 😉

Go to a ne-waza (Brasil Jujitsu or JUdo) dojo.
You can roll around on the floor with many nice looking Japanese boys. Most of those guys are in very good shape and very manly. I love martial art boys!

Im gonna hav eto cut in on this, Id say if your in any way decent looking and foreign you have a good chance. When I was in Nagoya, the girls who would be considered ugly here, had guys telling me they thought they were got. Problem is, alot of Japanese guys are too embarassed to go approach girls. This is why I think foreign men do better over there, it seems the more you attempt to hit on someone there, the greater chance you have, if they like gaijin of course. Id say you’d have to approach the men, but at a bar im sure you could get a drink from some salary men
