Japanese scarecrows are often a little unsettling, but this one is truly horrific.

Amazing!! The farmer must be a fan of zombie movies 🙂

It’s not the prettiest thing to look at, is it? Definitely not something you’d want to stumble upon in the dark…

That is a truely decayed specimin. The way the clothes and face are decrepitating makes me think it’s facing into the prevailing wind. Something to put outside for the trick or treaters – it might thin them out some.
I’m rereading The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi at present, and I can see echoes of the central character in the expression of this scarecrow.

It’s a bit special, isn’t it? It’d certainly give the trick or treaters pause for thought in regards their chosen outfit. Wouldn’t be easy outdoing this monstrosity…

Yeah it’s going to take some beating that’s for sure. But with a different batch each year, there’s definitely a chance.

LOL!! Count me amongst the terrified!! I honestly at first thought it was some cadaver or something horrific! Perfect for Halloween here in the states!

Haha, thank goodness it wasn’t! But yeah, perfect for Halloween. Or just regular, run-of-the-mill nightmares!
