Japanese public sleeping pair

The sleep-deprived life of a Japanese salaryman? Seemingly either too drained to do much more than snooze on a day off, or worse still, even more tired due to extra work at the weekend.

Ha, why aren’t they using more space? Aren’t their feet touching?! 😮

The fella on the right had his legs bent, so no touching. But why they didn’t lie further apart, or simply somewhere else, I don’t know. Perhaps just too tired to be bothered?

The fella on the left is smoking. If he was asleep, he was about to get a nasty burn!
        Classic scene.

Haha, Yes, I took a liberty there with the title. He had been asleep though. Or at least he appeared that way, before he roused himself and lazily lit a cigarette.

Room for one more! I really wonder if they have no house to return to. Although well dressed, their behaviour makes me jump to the conclusion that they’re homeless or their partners don’t want them home and in the way too early. Proably the latter. 😊

Yes. Maybe they were simply being polite!

Your guess is as good as mine on that score. But that wouldn’t surprise me!

I wonder if their original choice of position was down to the shade offered.
I wonder if they were relaxing while their wife/kids enjoyed a day out nearby.
You’ve managed to capture a very grey scene there. The bark, the concrete, the ground make even their palid faces look colourful.

Yes, very grey. Completely in the shade of the tree, so there wouldn’t have been any sun there earlier.

A complete guess, but I got the impression they were there alone.
