Japanese scarecrows silently staring…

With the harvesting of rice in Tokyo not far away, it’s time once again for the city’s sinister scarecrows to do their work. A job that obviously involves deterring birds, but it often feels like their main focus is staring menacingly at me.

And now you.

At least the scarecrows are not radioactive. Nor is the rice in Fukushima by the latest reports (yay!).
Its the best rice in the world… so the locals say, but certainly I will never forget it’s fragrance… seared into the memories…

Yes. That must be a huge relief for the region. Just hope people continue to buy it.

They are mostly harmless, provided of course you don’t upset them!

The scarecrows need a haircut and nicer clothes.
Also, wash their face so that they can have a better stare! 🙂

These were two of the cleaner scarecrows, although admittedly not the best dressed!

That bottom one is definitely creepy. Like something out of a horror film….

Yeah, it was definitely the best/worst of the bunch this year.
