Jeanist jamboree

For the second year running, singing sensation Ayumi Hamasaki has been awarded the, ahem, prestigious Best Jeanist prize. Yes, you read that right. Jeanist!

Still, if nothing else, it gives me a (relatively) valid reason to post a picture of the rather attractive Ms. Hamasaki. Sporting jeans of course.

Attractive, but those music videos of her can be quite strange…

I simply love reading your little snippets of Japan and its culture. Makes me want to move to Japan. Keep up the good writing, cheers!

What are the criteria for awarding this prize? Does one just wear jeans & hope for the best?

CTDeLude: Yeah, I know what you mean, but at least they have a bit of originality compared to many J-pop videos. She uses a lot of foreigners too. Maybe I should try aand get myself a small walk-on part.

Joe: Thanks a lot. I’m glad you like the site. But if you do move to Japan, and you don’t like it, please don’t blame me!

Nigel: I’ve been wearing jeans for years, and not even managed a nomination. I think being young, beautiful, and famous are key factors. I’m pushing it to try and claim the first one, and as for the latter two….no chance.

Heh….well supposedly she shoots a lot of them out here in LA or something. And yes they certainly are quite more interesting than your average J-Pop.

I just realized this girl’s got toothpicks for legs…
