Lost in time Tokyo shopper

Or should it be lost in place rather than time? Possibly even both?

old fashioned shopper in modern Tokyo

Yes, that and her clothing struck me as a huge contrast to her surroundings.

Okay, this is weird, but the first thing I thought was “Hatsune Miku forty years on…”, because negi.

Do you see those things on trains and subways too? Since typically so much is locally accessible, within walking distance, maybe not?

Another great story shot – symbolic of Japan’s aging population, maybe. I wonder if she’s got a hikikomori child at home. Or she’s a mama-san at a small bar?

Most definitely lost in time then!

Nah, generally not. Like you say, it’s easily bought locally.

Thanks! She intrigued me. The clothes for starters, and then the protruding negi. Also, as that area, along with where she was headed, isn’t really a residential area, she seemed even more out of place. But I think you might have nailed it. A mama-san makes total sense.

Thanks a lot! She does, doesn’t she? Saw her from across the road and she even stood out then, so was happy to get a photo of her.
