No country for old men?

Tokyo Times has had a few photos of late featuring the capital’s growing legion of old ladies, but, while they may be in the majority, the city still has a massive number of old men.

Many of whom seem just as doddery, and yet equally determined, as their wives and sisters.

I had a sad experience this morning. Next to the exit of my station a very senior lady was sitting in a wheelchair. She was clearly wheeled there, not being able to move herself, but there was no caretaker around. She looked totally lost and I don’t need to tell you how cold it is in Tokyo today. Half an hour later, she was still there.
I asked the cops at a nearby koban to check her out, I don’t know her story, but for sure it wasn’t a happy one.

Good on you for doing something. We all know how easy it is just to walk by. Poor woman.

I was worried for this fella as the path was really slippery, and he looked very unsteady to say the least. Luckily though he turned off, and onto a proper path, not long after I’d taken the picture.

Wommen tend to live more than men, is something you learn in “The book of “Life””. I guess if statistics match the same pattern, hahhaha.

    Great as always Lee!
