Photographing the photographer

Turning the tables and (perhaps not quite so) surreptitiously photographing a Tokyo street photographer.

Did he react fast enough to get a photo of you too?

No. Or at least not that I know of!

Very cool shot! Great framing and atmosphere. He doesnโ€™t look so happy about the camera being turned on him! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cheers. Certainly happy with the result. And no, he doesn’t, does he…?

Nice shot again! You often use hipshots. Is that an artistic choice or just easier to photograph people a bit less obtrusive / without them noticing? ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you! It’s an artistic choice. I like the effect of looking up at subjects, plus it also has the advantage of removing some of Tokyo’s clutter that can often be very distracting. I still have to get close, and sometimes crouch down rather than shoot from the hip, so very little chance of going unnoticed!
