Quiet scenes from the similarly quiet side of a Japanese city

There are numerous photos of the quieter, faded sides of Japanese towns and cities on these pages. The kind of scenery that is increasingly common due to the nation’s shrinking population. So here then are some more, all of which were taken on a recent Saturday outing, although to be fair, it looked and felt much more like a Sunday. Or perhaps more accurately, a perpetual Sunday.

Sadly, it feels like these could be the set for a dystopian film. Sooooo quiet on a Saturday?!?

Yeah, that’s a very good point. It really was so quiet, and especially so for a Saturday.

Love the design of the beer vending machine.
Also, the can on the left looks like a whopper!

Me too. Always enjoy seeing an old style machine. And yes, that one is for those who really want a beer!

Great collection. Love the second from last. Looks like a self designed kit house. I wonder what goods or services it offered, if any.

Thanks a lot. Yeah, so much to like about that one. My guess would be a beauty salon.
