A lot of my time is spent in Tokyo’s older, eastern districts, but I also like to wander areas more towards the west, and especially Shinjuku and its environs — a part of the city I’ve been photographing for years. These then are images taken on a couple of recent meanders in and around those neighbourhoods.

I sure hope the cat wasn’t waiting for the pigeon! 🙂

Haha, thankfully they were in slightly different locations!

Marvellous set again, Lee. The tiny car parked inside was a surprise, even for Tokyo! You’ve been to the robot park before, but this one having a person in it for both scale and a reminder that the park is still used is great.
I’m debating what the graffiti on the no crossing sign means – if you cross here you will burst into flames? Turn into a Christmas tree?
Lee says
Thank you very much. Yeah, it was good to go back and better still get someone in the same frame. I’ve come to the conclusion that all parks should have a giant concrete robot.
I know eh? Not at all sure what that is about.

Re the robot park, even better if there were some kids playing there. Great shots, thank you!
Lee says
Thanks and you are welcome as always.
It was a weekday so very quiet, but also would have been a bit weird taking photos if there had been kids playing.
Richard says
Good, albeit sad point in today’s world about taking photos of kids!

there is so much to like here but I will just mention the amazing color coordination of the guy in the trench coat walking in front of the graffitti’d buildings. you should do a set on your portfolio of all the people with the right colors who you waited for to walk past a scene
Lee says
Thanks a lot. I was only thinking the other day actually about putting such a set together, so now I will definitely have to do it.
