Silent, always staring, Japanese scarecrows

With this year’s crops now planted, it’s time for the mannequin head scarecrows to make another appearance. And once again they are doing what they do best.

Which is standing silently.

Japanese scarecrows

As well as staring.

OK, you can stop now. I haven’t been to bed yet and that’s going to give me nightmares.

Cheers Ben. Yeah, that’s my favourite. Black and white really adds to the effect.

Looking back at your other scarecrow shots, it’s no wonder to me that Japanese create such unique horror movies. Just look at their inspiration!

Ugh, no wonder the crows aren’t going anywhere near that field.

      Yeah, no crows, no nothing.

Must admit, when the rice crops grow and this particular areas fills them with these mannequin scarecrows, it’s a pretty odd sight. Can only imagine what it’d be like in the semi-darkness!

The Japanese have the ability to do both ridiculously cute and horrifyingly creepy. This one is definitely the latter.

No matter how many times i see these, they will never stop creeping me out. I also “like” the first shot the most.
