I’ve seen them on the road in worse shape than that.

That doesn’t surprise me! Sadly the interior of this one was in much worse condition. It’d take a hell of a lot of work to get it back on the road again…

I wanted a camper for a long time…. But one in much better condition!

Always had a soft spot for them myself. An old VW specialist near where I live has some lovingly maintained and restored ones for sale. Not in the least bit practical for my life here, but it’s still hard to walk past without thinking how lovely it’d be to own one…

Thisphotograph immediately reminded me of something I tried long and hard to get my better half to see the light of having in our garden – a rusted and battered model VW Beetle drinks cooler. Unfortunately my arguments fell apart when she asked exactly how many scortchingly hot summer days I expected to be able to benefit from such an extravagence . We live in the UK.
Google “Kool Kombi Cooler” for images.
I suspect the camper in the photograph above would be cheaper anyway 🙂

Wonderful idea. Never seen such a thing before. But yeah, living in the UK you’d probably end up using it, what.. once, perhaps twice a year if you were really lucky!

    A commentary on VW’s current situation? 😉

That was definitely a part of it!
