Snow-capped Mount Fuji

At the start of a new year, the focus is very often on new beginnings, along with the changes that have occurred, and will continue to occur, around us. But some things never change. Not perceptibly anyway. And their beauty never, ever, fades.

It was. Been near Fuji plenty of times, but that was the clearest and most beautiful I’ve ever seen it. A real treat.

It really is the mountain that keeps on giving. Impossible not to be taken aback by its beauty no matter how many times you see it.

This was taken from Yamanakako. Not the prettiest lake in the world by any stretch of the imagination, but it does offer some pretty spectacular views of Fuji. We got really lucky with the weather too. Never seen it so clear.

I know. So many times I’ve been there and seen only glimpses. This time we got clear views all day. A wonderfully rare treat.

Beautifully captured Lee! I was also out on Saturday morning doing the exact same thing and given the cooler mornings on the 2nd and 3rd made for crystal clear shots like this one.

Thanks a lot! It might be fairly cold, but the wonderfully bright and blue winter skies here are fantastic, aren’t they?

Never fear. It might just end up as my page header for FB some winter.

Happy new year to you Lee. another fun year on TT. As for Fuji.. yep. climbed it once. Under a full moon. The opening of the mountain in Heisei 1. Got to the top in 3 hours. 12 am. nobody there.. just the moon. the crater.. then at about 4 -5 am hoards showed up with walking sticks with bells What a racket! Excellent view though. would do it again but they say twice is crazy. I agree. hard work getting up that monstrous pile of pumice. Gimmme a helicopter and we can go up for a BBQ!

Cheers, Willy. You too, have a good one.

Sounds very much like my jaunt up there. Arrived at the top way too early, and I was woefully ill-prepared clothing wise. Was absolutely frozen. But the sunrise made it worth it.

Likewise. Only way I’d do it again is if I could get airlifted from the top. Didn’t mind the climb, but hated the long, ugly, hot descent. So yeah, if there’s a helicopter in the offing, I’ll meet you at the top!
