Striking Japanese woman in blue fur

In a city of many millions, standing out from a shifting sea of faces and varied fashions can be difficult. Of course some people manage it due to considerable effort, whereas others seem to do it simply by being themselves.

      Shibuya’s Cross Starbucks?

So many afternoons “borrowing” wi-fi in that spot…

Perhaps she is angry because that Starbucks does not have a venti plastic cup… I was just there today. I wanted a venti ice coffee but no dice.

Haha, can’t look at her now without thinking of the ultimate price poor Cookie Monster paid…

Yes, Shibuya Starbucks. She was taking a selfie just before I took her shot. Perhaps a selfie of to express her annoyance at the lack of vent plastic cups?

She’s a bit scary, but that’s a great outfit. Wish I was brave enough to go out like that! 🙂

Isn’t it? She genuinely staid out from the crowd. And yes, a woman not to be messed with I think.

    Beautiful plumage!
An incredibly striking photograph, subject expertly plucked, in isolation, from crowds of unique individuals within yards of you.
Blue Meany springs to my, possibly older, mind, along with the Norwegian Blue reference.
Despite Jim Henson being a great favourite of mine (esp Fraggle Rock) Sesame Street and Cookie Monster passed me by entirely both as child and parent. Now if it had been Cookiezi …

      Thank you.

Being British, Sesame Street wasn’t really watched. At least not in our house. But at the same time I was still aware of the main characters.

Her facial expression is a bit intimidating, almost daring us to poke fun of her hat and coat and then lambaste us for it 🙂
(Great composition, BTW, love the young woman in the background also looking at the coat and clearly wondering too)

Cheers! The girl in the background really adds to it, doesn’t she?

Yes, I wouldn’t want to cross her. Lambast is a great word. And lambasting someone is something I’m sure she’d excel at!

Aside from the bold color, it does look like a very warm outfit for a cold day in Nippon.

Yes, after an unusually mild December and early January, the onset of real winter weather has made the lower temperatures seem especially harsh. But not for this lady. She must be lovely and warm wearing that.

Another after thought . . . If she were available, a highly stunning photo would be with her posed in this outfit against a backdrop of fresh white snow.

That would make for a stunning shot. No doubt about it.
