An interesting character to photograph. I don’t think he is homeless. He is too well furbished and appointed. His clothes, his kit, even the mat he is lying on, look too fresh. Maybe saving a little whilst doing some temp work in the city. I imagine the cheaper capsule hotels might not be too well airconned.
You always provide a talking point or three.
BTW, loved the “dead Inside” post on your instagram account.
Cheers. Yeah, there are certainly lots of possibilities. Perhaps the only thing that isn’t up for debate is the shortness of his short shorts!
Thanks. I was very pleased with that ‘dead inside’ find. To get to the underpass I had to climb a fence I wasn’t completely sure I’d be able to get back over, so it was especially nice to see that.

Hmmm… lots more English there than usual. Is that Roppongi or somewhere outside Japan??

Nah, it’s Shinjuku. Don’t know why, but when it comes to graffiti, English is far more common than japanese.

I can’t decide if he’s an urban sunbather or a homeless guy…….

Good point. Wondered that myself after looking at the photo in more detail.
When I took it I didn’t think he was. His shorts and waistcoat are what got my attention. But now I’m not so sure.
