Looks like Ueno to me, love that area around the JR station, I always wonder how those tiny shops make their money. Great story-telling photography!

      Cheers!

Yes, Ueno it is. Me too. A regular haunt of mine. On a sunny day, til about 12:30-1-ish, the walk from Okachimachi Station up Ameyokocho is wonderful. Busy, chock full of characters, and everyone lit up beautifully. Just wonderful!

Reminds me a bit of under the rail tracks in Sanomiya/Kobe. Tons of little shops, still got an awesome bag and coat from them, 7 years going

For me there’s something about such areas I really like. They always seem to have a certain grittiness and a connection to the past.

Not sure you’d have quite the same luck in Ueno. I could be wrong, but I’m not entirely convinced that most of the stuff on sale is the real deal…

Personally, she has the look of a predator on the prowl…. for a bag or something…

A woman on a mission. And whatever that mission was, she’ll have no doubt had success in Ueno. Not many things that aren’t sold there.
