May I ask what the camera model and ISO setting was for this image?

Yeah, of course. It was shot with a Leica M-E at ISO 400. Oh, and at f/4 too.

Where is that? Looks a bit like Shirahama.

That’s the spot. It was a lot windier than I expected, but no less peaceful for it. Really lovely place.

I’m curious about the location too, imagine the sea without the concrete tetrapods I’ve come across everywhere in Japan!
Public money spent to win another LDP seat, or so evil voices tell me 🙂

As mentioned above, it’s Shirahama Shrine/Beach in Shimoda.

Admittedly there were the inevitable tetrapods, but surprisingly not many at all. A very welcome sight. In fact there are some genuinely beautiful beaches down there. A very relaxed vibe about the place too. Really enjoyed it.

Lee, is there any chance of you ever putting out a book of your photos? I for one would be very interested in a published photo collection
of your works. As a newbie to photography, I find them not only beautiful, but also inspiring.

Thank you very much, June. That’s a lovely thing to say, it really is.

As for a book, it’s not something I’ve ever seriously considered, but if the opportunity arose, or it was financially feasible to do so, then I’d be more than willing to give it a go.

I’ve been exactly in the same place and i took some shoots in medium format film but i didn’t achieve a nice frame like this, very nice picture and nice blog. You have just gained a new fan.

      Thank you very much.

The woman sat there looking out to sea really made a difference. She got up and left a few minutes after I took the photo, so clearly the shrine gods were looking out for me!
