The world through a plastic visor

When the world is clearly in trouble, seeing it less clearly might make it look just that little bit kinder.

Great framing as always! Cool scene with the life going on in the background too.

Thank you. Yeah, I would have liked to have got a bit closer, but the little details behind her worked out quite well.

My mother sometimes wears a tinted transparant golf visor to help her vision in bright conditions, but it doesn’t come down over her face like that.
Another interesting photograph. The colours and patterns of her clothes and bag add to the suggestion she is a lively lady.
The nest of cables against the blue sky is something I sought in my photographs when I wandered around Tokyo. It’s not something you get in the UK and somehow seems at odds with Tokyo’s largely hightech image. Some of the dense overhead cble tangles dont look too far removed from the jury rigged solutions of the Walled City – though I am sure they are safe and highly regulated.

Cheers. They are often used to block the sun, but being clear it must serve some other purpose I presume.

Yeah, some of the cables are a mindboggling mess. Or at least they certainly seem that way. Oddly, I have grown to really like them. Yes they are unsightly, but without them Tokyo wouldn’t be quite the same.

A tot of sweet sake never hurts either LOL

For some reason, reminds me of a slightly dystopian future, like a sunny day in a Blade Runner city, or something from a Metal Hurlant comic – or, you know… Tokyo. As to why clear – perhaps warmth? On a chill day, that probably keeps your face warm.

Yes, the sweet sake was doing good business. Not surprising really at a very reasonable ¥100 a cup.

Ah, hadn’t thought of that. On a chilly, windy day, that would make total sense.
