The practice of handing out tissues and discount tickets is played out all over Tokyo, but the teeming hordes at Harajuku’s Takeshita Dori must surely make the task more tedious.
Or at the very least, taxing.

Nice capture. Although she looks disappointed with her life. Aside from her eyes, the face is emotionless and she tilts her head down and is looking a little bit away on the second photo. You captured not just what she was doing but who she is.
As i’m sure you know, there are more iconic photographs during times of great depression, government instability, new change in government, and several other things of that nature. If Japan reaches the level of what one would call a crisis, I believe one of those two photographs stands a chance given the right people see it and the right people use that photo as an example. From there starts a chain reaction. Theres also the other order of some small time person using it as an example and then other small time people start using it until some newspaper or magazine tries it out. From there more newspapers and magazines use it until it becomes an icon the general public remembers seeing and associating it with something they can relate to.
Wow. That’s the most natural looking blond job I’ve seen yet; wonder if it’s a wig. The hair doesn’t even look too frazzled by bleach & dye; must’ve cost a good bit if it’s real. Her kawaiisou look is too perfect; could very well be deftly practiced. Don’t forget, that’s a moe trope too.

Thanks Andy. Yes, I was surprised with the emotionless of her face. Despite being surrounded by so many people, she seemed incredibly lonely.

If she looked any sadder she’d burst into tears. if only there was somewhere she could get some tissues…
