Yes. A tour group presumably. But while that area is part of the red light district, I’m pretty sure they weren’t expecting to see something like that.
No, he didn’t. Not even sure he was fully aware of the state he was in to be honest. When the police arrived — fully protected in rubber gloves — he still seemed oblivious to anything and everything. Very grim.
Life isnt always a pretty picture, and as humans we should have a heart for lost souls, rather then judge the visual situation. Just help the man. Sometimes all humans need is just another human to care – who cares abiut tourists, that is his country.
Happy to say help was on its way. I didn’t stop to see the eventual outcome, but the two policemen that were on their way to help him seemed to have the best of intentions. No harassment or questioning, just a desire to assist him.
I think the tourist element is a valid one. Or at least an interesting point. So many people seem to see Japan as some kind of wonderland. Or at least don’t see past the country’s more colourful elements. And scenes like the one above, which sadly aren’t exactly rare, shatter such preconceptions.
