    Respect to these guys in their training. A few guys dressed up in monk fashion have been agressively bugging tourists for “donations” and now every tourist thinks they’re being ripped off the moment they see a monk standing with his bowl on a corner as the warning went out without much explanation or context. ☺

      Yeah. And no way of knowing one way or the other. Well, at least not for the majority of people.

      I see two regularly in Ueno. Older fellas who are out on the street seemingly everyday. It’s quite obvious they aren’t exactly flush with cash too. Seen one of them entering a nearby capsule hotel, and the other hunkered down one time behind a sign eating a meagre lunch. Not an easy life at all…
