Haha, I suspect it was the latter!

This one made me laugh. A year ago my youngest won a goldfish at the local annual fair while we were away – it was about the same size as the ones in that trough. All through my kids childhoods there has been a no-pet policy because the buggers will never look after them. And now he’s 22 he’s managed to sneak one in. Of course, he’s at Uni and guess who has to look after the fish… And I have the exact same tub of food, and the exact same yellow bottle of nitrate-minus behind the guys hand. Which reminds me, Monday is when I fill two buckets of water and condition it overnight for the weekly 1/4 water change and gravel hoover tomorrow. Sigh.

That’s funny. All that time you held out and he managed to lumber you with a pet when he’s left home!

That said, I’m surprised it’s still alive. The ones I won as a kid didn’t last much longer than the journey home…

It’s well looked after. To his credit he did do a lot of research on it (after the fact) and he did spend a fair bit of time upgrading the original 10 inch bowl to a 20l tank and then again to a 50l tank. But we don’t have an outdoor pond and no room for a larger tank – so future quality of life is questionable.

A free (bucket) workout with every fish. Keep fit, keep a goldfish.

With a slogan like that, he’d be doing a roaring trade.

I’m wondering what the mask on the side of his head is all about.

There was a stall selling them opposite his, so I suspect he just got it from there. But why he was wearing it on the side of head is anyone’s guess…
